Unsure of which option will suit you? Please read FAQ's with regard to this course option. Or, you can contact York College at any time for assistance. We are more than happy to assist you with your TAE40110 pathway. Phone: 1300 541 773 E-mail: admin@yorkcollege.nsw.edu.au

The TAE40116 was endorsed on 1 April 2016 & the TAE40110 will be removed from our scope 5 October 2017. This applies to all training organisations with TAE40110 on their scope. Training Packages are generally updated every 5 years in the VET industry. According to Standard 1.26, “Subject to Clause 1.27 and unless otherwise approved by the VET regulator the RTO ensures that: (a) where a training product on its scope of registration is superseded, all learners’ training and assessment is completed and the relevant AQF certification documentation is issued or learners are transferred into its replacement, within a period of one year from the date the replacement training product was released on the National Register”.

Every RTO with the TAE40110 on its scope will be required to re-apply to ASQA to deliver the TAE40116. ASQA has issued a statement to indicate they will heavily scrutinise all applications, so it is held it may be some time before the TAE40116 is generally available.

What does this mean for you? All students who have signed up to the TAE40110 from 1 April 2016 with York College will be upgraded to the TAE40116 as soon as we are approved to deliver the new qualification. This should not deter you from getting on with your work as the Unit TAELLN411 is included with your purchase and is a core unit in the TAE40116. The unit TAEASS502 is a new core in the TAE40116 not in the TAE40110. We’ll notify you when the time comes of transitioning to the new qualification.

The TAE40110 Certificate IV Online program is designed for those who have a qualification in a specific vocation and you want to attain the skills and knowledge in training/assessing to provide these skills/knowledge in the workplace or VET industry. It is highly desirable you have access to a workplace to complete the assessment work. It is suitable for participants who are time poor and/or live in regional areas, where attending face-to-face sessions is not an option.

What assessment work is required in the workplace?

In simple terms, you will be designing, delivering and assessing training programs in your workplace. It is highly desirable you have access to a workplace and workplace participants to complete the assessment work for all clusters, but especially Delivery. If you do not have access to the workplace, contact us before booking or, if you have booked in, communicate with the mentor/assessor allocated to you to discuss simulating this work environment. In this latter scenario, you will be required to video these assessment tasks and submit to York College for assessment.
